well it depends on whos playing it and i think the strat is more versitile and comfortable to play. but thats just me.

Well Historically the Tele came first and is about as versatile guitar as anyone ever made. It has been used for rock, country, jazz, blues & metal with good results.
The Strat has some extra features seen as improvements by some, double cutaway, tremolo, 3 pu's etc. but they are really two different animals and it is like comparing and apple to an orange. Or comparing ans SG to an LP

They both have advantages and disadvantages depending on what kind of music you are trying to play with them. The cool thing about Strats & Tele's is that you can get them with single coils or humbuckers, vintage to modern looks etc. so people can usually find the one that works best for whatever their playing style and musical tastes are.
