My cousin Justin has 2. would not change a thing on either. He is a severe metal head, and uses them for recording and some live stuff. Do your pups read at around 14. they should. Freakishly heavy to.

I'd give it a go, but I bought another 1980 back in august. Same color as yours, only it doesn't have the coil tap switch.

Actually, the newer of the two (the Tobacco) is much lighter than the Burst.

You can kinda see the difference between the thickness of the bodies in this shot:



I think they had to make the Burst thicker to fit all the extra electronics - but I've played LPs that were much heavier than either one of them.

I actually wanted the one you've got, with the coil tap switch. But once I got to the guy's house who was selling the Tobacco Artist and tried it, I just decided to buy it anyway. Glad I did.

i honestly don't think i could go to someone's house, try a guitar and NOT buy it. i have that crushing british embarrassment thing...
