BC Rich Mockingbird lefty

Hey guys. I've been playing an Epi Les Paul Standard lefty for a while, and I want to get a second guitar, with kind of a different sound and a different look... However, I'm quite picky and that's not a good trait for a left handed player, given that there's oh so little choice for us to choose from. There's quite a few lefty Epi LP's going around, and quite a few lefty Gibson LP's, for a bit more money than the same right handed model... I'd like to go for an LP Custom, but I don't have the money to shell out that kind of cash...

Personally I'm a big fan of the BC Rich Mockingbird (you know, the one that Slash plays when he's not on his LP)...

So I've been looking around, and I've found that, even though for the higher up Mockingbirds (think ST) there aren't any lefty models, I've been thinking of getting the Mockingbird Special (picture at bottom).

Does anybody have any experience with the Mockingbirds, or BC Rich, or do you think I should go for a cheaper model now and get a lefty custom model with ST-type Varitone knob and coil taps, like, when I win the lottery?

Oh, and does anyone have any idea what a custom Mockingbird model would cost?

Or does anyone have any better suggestions? I thought of getting a Mexican Strat, but I'm not really fan enough of the strat sound.

Re: BC Rich Mockingbird lefty

Man, I recently picked me up one of them Mockingbird special X's and I'm super impressed with their performance... you should definitely investigate them further... awesome value too... although I'm not sure what kind of expense getting a lefty would entail...

Anyways you can catch my personal opinions and rating on the guitar at

As you can see I'm seriously impressed and happy with the purchase...

That's real good to know. The biggest dealer in this country gives a price of € 776, and they're renowned for being expensive... but they only have the Onyx, and I really want the white... It's a possibility I might look into if I keep having trouble finding a good Les Paul at a nice price.

Re: BC Rich Mockingbird lefty

I might have to see about a custom shop as well, but I have no idea what price BC Rich would charge to have a guitar custom made

Blast a mail to info@bcrich.com

I sent a few queries to them before I bought... and I found them to me very helpful and responsive. You should maybe ask have they plans to make any lefties or whats the cost of a custom built one?

Thats pretty cool! But I`m more of a fan of Worlocks. But still, I woulden`t mind
having a Mockingbird.
