Any Jackson players out there?
Since Fender owns Jackson.. Why not?
I almost picked up a Jackson Dinky today. I think it was a JS but I'm not sure. Was a flake gunmetal grey with locking trem and two all black Jackson *cv? crv?* pickups. Had dot inlays which is why I think it was a JS... Nice guitar though, and no reverse headstock... Cheap though! Might still go grab it tomorrow. Looked kinda like this... but I don't think it had a reverse headstock... ![]() Jackson owners?! Post em up! |

Re: Any Jackson players out there?
I have about a dozen San Dimas era Charvel and Jackson guitars and a few new ones as well.
Here are a couple of my Randy Rhoads models. One is a late 80's Rhoads Professional and the other with the string thru body is a LTD PCS serial #0008. Its an exact copy of Randy's original black one.

Re: Any Jackson players out there?
I used to have one of those!
They're made in India, the trems are crap as are the pickups. The guitar itself isn't too bad though. My advice would be to save your money though as over all I could only rate mine at about a 6 out of 10 (It only scored that highly cos they;re so cheap).

Re: Any Jackson players out there?
I have a 04' DK2. I think i payed around $500 new. It's been a nightmare. It's the "guitar that could have been". Like the other guys said, the trem is not good at all. the locking not was actually positioned about 1mm off, and it makes my low E string slide off the side of the fretboard constantly whenever i play on that string. The Duncan Designed pickups are the worst i've ever heard, and wiring and soldering was negligent. Ok now the goods- The body resonates nicely, the neck is perfect. i love the neck. so smooth and stable. super low action. the guitar looks awsome as well, trans black/pointy headstock. my dream guitar, if it weren't for all the issues.

Re: Any Jackson players out there?
ive gone through about 15 jacksons this year. ive always love the japanese "professional" series. and the san dimas era. the only one still here is a js i bought for the daughter to learn on since the thin neck is easier for her fingers. the only one i regret getting rid of was the jenna jameson model i had. i never even plucked her g string. check out this sight Guide to the Japanese Jackson Pro Series guitars from 1990 - 1995

Re: Any Jackson players out there?
I still remeber playing a jazz fussion in a guitar shop around 1989....I did really like that guitar but have no idea of how to find one (or if I would still feel the same way)....
Would that have been a san dimas? Could it just be called a fussion? any ideas of how to find the right one?

Jackson is my main guitar and the cornerstone of my collection! Though i have had BAD GAS for some Gibson's lately which brought me here, i usually hang at the JCF. I have actually been thinking of selling a few to grab a Paul or two...and an Explorer...anyway that's a WHOLE other thread. Here are just a few or mine, i have 15 USA's, here are 2 beauties for ya! Re: Any Jackson players out there?
I have a few Charvels, but currently this is the only Jackson I have. It is an early Jackson JJ, it has a really fat, chunky neck on it.
