Kauer Guitars- "Guitar-B-Que" (Tentative Date 4/24)
Its Guitar-B-Que time again!!
DATE: April 24th - 8:30AM till 4:30PM then the Jam will start at 7 SHOPS ADDRESS 9864 Dino Dr #6 Elk Grove, CA 95624 Ok everyone, here's all the details. We're really excited to be doing this again! Body Options We will have an "order form" to fill out at the BBQ with all the routing options. We will be offering Strats and Tele's again with a variety of routing and pickup options (especially the Tele's). Price 100 per body (either material) Material Options Alder and African Mahogany. Payment:. Paypal is sales@kauerguitars.com . PLEASE put in your information if you are buying an Alder or Mahogany body. The cut off is March 31st. If your coming just to hang out and BS (and eat!!) and decide you want a body after all, just bring cash and hope there are unclaimed blanks! I can't promise every one of them is going to be Sunburst worthy (this IS wood after all, some of these are bound to have bland or some blemished grain) so get early to claim your billet. Dad, Steve and I spend a lot of time hand pulling material, matching them up for glue up (these will be 2pc bodies) so we will do our best to have a lot of nice looking ones. Misc Information This year we're capping at 25 bodies. I'll have the router tables setup so I can edge them ('cept for binding) and sanders out if you need to "borrow" a sander. *Be sure to thank Steve, Rick, Rita and Dave... they are also volunteering to help man the router and shopsmith. * Amp and Guitar Room! The Amp Room WILL be happening again! Last year was fantastic, lots and lots of great amps and guitars all kinds of great things. This was hands down a huge success last year! Food This is simple. Bring what you feel like eating with enough to share with 2-3 other people. If its burger's bring a pound of ground beef, 4 pack of sausage ect ect. I used to hold BBQ's like this at the shop all the time and it almost always works out. If not, there is a Bel Air a half mile from the shop for soda runs. Just remember, this is my place of business. I try to keep the beer drinking, juvenile hijinx to a minimum. Lodging Info There are a few places near the Jam after the BBQ. The closest is the The Holiday Inn is literally across the street from Vega's. This is probably the best place. Next is the Embassy Suites. This is a bit further but still walking distance from Vega's. My favorite place to stay in Sacramento is the Sheraton Hotel and while not walking distance its pretty close. AFTER THE BBQ- Jam The Place: Vega's in Old Sacramento We've worked it out that Vega's is going to host an open jam night for all of us who want to play after the BBQ. Last year was an absolute blast and we're expecting some of you guys who wussed out last year to be on stage! We're thinking meet there around 7pm, that gives everyone time to find food, shower, rest if needed (lord knows I'll need it). We can get together, have some beer and play. I'll try to get at least 1 or 2 drummers on hand and at least 1 bass player (dave and I can play bass in a pinch). Bring an amp if you can, otherwise I'll have my Bassman and Encore as an extra amp. Vega's Nightclub 910 Second Street Sacramento CA 95814 There are several excellent places to eat in Elk Grove and Sacramento... PM if you have something specific in mind your looking for. Misc Notes -Bring lawn chairs, trust me your feet will thank you for it! - If your bringing something specific food wise (besides burgers and or dogs) post it up so we don't have to many duplicates. - I would LOVE it if someone was willing to pickup plastic plates, forks ect. Please if your willing to do that post it up again. Last Years Pictures Last edited by b-squared; 02-23-2010 at 05:26 AM. |

Looking forward to this!
Right now the 24th is still a little in the air, but it will most likely be right in that time frame. |

Yeah, she's 12, growing like a weed, and we only get to see her a few times a year. It's REALLY hard for my wife, Jordan is the baby.

Re: Kauer Guitars- "Guitar-B-Que" (Tentative Date 4/24)
Bump. I want to make sure this is still worth doing this year, if not a few of us have gig offers for that night elsewhere. We REALLY want to do this again, last year was an absolute blast.
So two things: 1. If your planning on purchasing a body, remember the cut off is March 31st. If no one buys any bodies there isn't a big point in doing this. 2. If your not buying a body but coming anyways, PLEASE email me at dkauer AT gmail DOT com or post in this thread. There are some debates about the jam night. Because Steve, Danny and Dave (Guitar, Drums, Guitar/Bass) all have gigs that night possibly, we've thought about just having a jam right at the shop in the parking lot. The problem is, because we're not the only business in our complex, I'm going to have to go around and ask to see if this is ok. If we're still going to have enough people for the jam as planned that night, Steve, Danny and Dave can cancel their other gigs (since they committed to this first :cough cough and we can do it.What I just generally need is enough response to know we're going to do this! -d |

Re: Kauer Guitars- "Guitar-B-Que" (Tentative Date 4/24)
Well, there's been a change in plans:
We're going to have an EZ-UP and all the equipment to just jam at the shop during the day, during the BBQ. We will NOT be doing the jam night at Vega's this year. To many of us have conflicting gig's that night and this free's all us up plus you Bay Area people wont have to spend the night. This will be great too because not only will we have the amp room going but your welcome to let other people try out the amps in a live environment. |
