Hey steady on you Jocks.. You are giving off such wild images, that you'll scare half of the colonials off from coming.
They'll have visions of these turning up at the meet.

Re: The 2010 UK MLP International Fete (Meet)

Hey Phil,

I'll try and convince Ms Groover with a weekend away in the beautiful county of Dorset ;0) (perhaps not mention the ulterior motive in the first engagement)

I am sure if I can find a nice place to stay, some shopping and good food it won't be a problem.

I can help with the back line if needed? I have a few nice small combos and low watt heads that people might like to try?

I'd love to meet up and actually jam with you this time ;0)

I'm busy on the 16th May perhaps the first weekend would be good?

Best regards,

RG

That would be great RG.
All we have to do is fix up an approx date on this thing and get some positive attendance numbers. It only looks like their are around half a dozen of us at the moment.

HiDrude,
I can get most dates around that time, but obviously we need numbers.
I am getting the gig on the premice that there will be a lot of people there and he'll sell drinks. Normally there would be a band that would attract in punters.
I'm gonna feel a bit of a prat if 6 people turn up, noodling away on a couple of amps in the corner and the place is empty and he's down hundreds in takings. We might as well hire a cold village hall for that.
I'm selling him the idea as a sort of MLP meet that will attract quite a few people from hopefully here and abroad.. The idea being that there is constant music. One guy gets up and does his bit, then another and another. A sort of guest jam evening.
We need bums on seats here.
Perhaps we also need another thread to register numbers attending, which at least would give us some ballpark figures.

I can't see that many Yanks coming, much as they'd like to!
So how many are we left with? How many of us Brits are wanting a piss up?

Maybe we'll have to down scale the event?

Let's not scale it down..Let's hype it up and make it more an attractive propostion for people to attend, that's what we should be aiming for.

perhaps we need RMC1 for a mascot.

C'mon..You people roll up. roll up.
The one and only lifetimes chance to see Vasco get his arse kicked by me.
The chance to see Cookie-boy do his famous underpants shuffle whilst playing his Telecaster.

The mans rearing to go., don't dissapoint him.
[/img]

The chance to see Drude stagger across the parking lot and fall flat on his face after two pints of old badgers bollocks ale.

This will be the event of the century.

Bole and Bling should come over as a double act.. Zappa meets Forest Gump in a Les Paul blues shoot out.

Bubbsy. Snake lady, Harmony and Aunty Lazy, handing out sourdough cookies and whirling round the dance floor in their gingham dresses.

Will KP Willets make it over, tooled up to the eyebrows wearing a Stetson . A Ted Nugent T shirt and red bandana.

****! This could be fun.

Then we have the Jocks arriving in their skirts. A chance for Aunty Lazy to get some sneaky shots with her camera, to find out once and for all if the legend is true.

I haven't had enough fun in England yet for this life, so I'm there if you guys pull it off. And I encourage everyone to go, despite the fact the dollar is crap now. Beautiful country and culture. You only live once (probably)!

Warning to Americans: DO NOT get between British people and any soccer/rugby/football game they care about. Don't use any word that, while it may be in context in your sentence, could be construed to refer to the name of any soccer/rugby/football team, because you might be referring to the wrong team. And a lot of them take that stuff seriously!

I think the sooner there is a date, folks over here will have a good sense of what airfare is going to run, you'll have your list. We know how high the rates go the closer you get to departure time. Some folks might be assuming the costs are going to be astronomical, but there are some great deals to be had well in advance.
