I can't wait to try those Strat pickups I got, Bill. I'm sure the "bourbon bobbins" or "rumbuckers" or "single malt coils" or whatever you want to call them will fit well in my Am Std, which is my only guitar without any of my own electronics in it - MSSC harness and soon to have ECP pickups. It really needed pickups and I had been neglecting it. This works out perfectly.

I'm presently moving shop so everything I brought back from the Philly show went to my new property and I haven't had a chance to get the Strat up there and install them yet. In the next few weeks I will and I'll give you a proper review then. I did pull them out of the box yesterday, to drool over a bit, and they look top notch!!

What a great show!

Leo won my PAF & Harness giveaway, btw, and MSSC was kind enough to take care of the install for him which involved a little extra work as the harness ended up going into a Classic. Thanks, guys.

Man, I have no clue how they are gonna sound. You can call them shakey coils or blind bill singles. if they sound crappy I'll make you another, PROPER set.

Am I hallucinating or can you see the slug coils through the covers?

Tiny ferrous dust particles stuck to the cover via magnetism? Physically impressed into the cover from pressure? It's pretty wild looking either way!

I definitely didn't notice that in person, but perhaps my eyes are getting older because I also thought those stickers on the rings were little phase/split switches.

No, nothing weird going on. In order to see what my Lester would look like with double creams, I applied a set of bobbin toppers (which are adhesive devices designed to change the appearance of your pickups) directly to the covers. I yanked them Sunday morning, and brought the guitar into the show on a whim, without cleaning it first. You are not hallucinating!

Artie, these 2 are as good as I can get right now. Yes, 81174520 is the sn# As far as being over sprayed, no idea. If it was then it was a long time ago.

520 is a Nashville code. It may well have Tim Shaw Pickup in it.

Darn!, would've been nice if it was made in Kalamazoo.

Currently it has Sheptone AB's but I do have the Shaws that were in it.

Also, 84 was a leap year so I think that makes it April 26th. Either way, she's old and she's MINE!!
