Hey wwit I seen you had a VM tele. I love the VM series. I got a strat that I picked up at a pawn shop pretty cheap that had a bridge pickup problem so i slapped an epi humbucker in it. I been wanting a VM tele but dont want humbuckers. I might not mind the p90 model but kinda want standard tele style. I could just get a classic vibe but they are like 100 bucks more and the squire standard has those crappy ugly saddles. I want the vintage style bridge like I think the VM has and I know the CV has. I dont care for thinlines either. Do you have any pics of yours?

I have also tryed various KT type tubes, but they were all way to much tube and the realy muffled the sound...litterly sounded as if a blanket had been packed into the speakers.

Sorry for the delay, I hadnt been on this sight for a week or so...busy busy these days.

    best of luck.

Hi, sorry, I just saw your message just now.

If its the VHT Sp6 Ultra they all sound brittle and harsh if you go anywhere past 60% on the volume or Ultra knobs...but there is an easy fix and great improvement by swaping in new pre-amp tubes.

Get good name brand ones. My preference has always been for JJ's Brand. But whatever brand you get tray and get a balanced tube for the V1 spot. V2 can just be a standard tube. Get 12AT7's. They have @ 20% less gain then the 12AX7's which is a far better match for that little amp.

Replace the power tube as well. I have tryed E34L, 6v6GT, and 6L6 and not realy noticed to much difference between them. If your looking for a Marshall sound, then the EL34 or E34L will get you there. If your looking towards a Fenderish clean or OD, them the 6V6 or 6L6 will head you that way. Also the headroom will have a dramatic increase as well. Any of these combinations Ive tryed worked great with pedals...dirt/OD in the front and time based in the FX loop.

    Hi Wwit
Need some urgent help if you can. Bought the head version a week ago. Running thru a 1 x 12 cab with a Celestion V12 Vintage in it. My Strat sounds brilliant but my LP sounds
crap. Been suggested its a dodgy tube or a poor fitting one. Need to get that LP GROWL but just sounds really harsh and brittle
