I honestly can't remember, I traded that guitar in on an amp about 6 months ago. I don't believe that I had to solder anything because I already had passive EMG's on board. I do remeber that it was a breeze to install and sounded magnificent. It was like having an onboard overdrive pedal. It wasn't noisey and was very easy to use. The only inconvenience was that if I wasn't playing the guitar, I had to remove the guitar cord from the input so I wouldn't drain the battery.

Willy, howdy from Phoenix! I noted your post in 2008 regarding the EMG Afterburner. I'm thinking about adding one to my ZW LP ... did your Afterburner require soldering or was it one of the plug-and-play solderless deals? Thanks for any response! PJ
