My final mod is complete! Just finished installing my battery box. I made a test cutout into a piece of wood with my Dremel 300 in its workstation with a makeshift fence to make sure my cuts would be straight and my dimensions correct, then I screwed the cover onto the wood and simply made the same cuts but very slowly so the plastic wouldn't melt. It came out nice. The workstation acted like a router so I could move the cover rather than the Dremel. Easy projects like this are a blast. It sure beats routing out the guitar's body.

Don't believe it. I Use EMG's in my LP's tuned down and they sound great. I just finished the new WildeStarr album, and all the songs were tuned down. Most to C, a few of them down even further to a and A#
BTW, I have a set of EMG 81 and 85 for sale! Used in good condition!

    hey,
So I have heard a few bad things about EMG's on detuned guitars.
the les paul I was going to put a set in is in Drop B.
I was going to buy them on monday so if you could get back to me that'd be awesome

    WildeStarr,
I'm going to install a battery box thru my Custom's control cavity plate for my EMGs like you did. Is there any soldering involved with additional wiring or can I thread the existing battery wires thru the new box?

    Hey buddy,
I am DEFINATELY going for a set of EMG's but I am not sure what set to get.
I have heared mixed reviews about the 60 as a neck pickup, but good reviews about it as a bridge.
On stage I play heavy metal but would like versatility because like everyone here im sure... when I practice I play everything.
So I was wondering what pair you would suggest?

hey well ive posted on the EMG forums but not many replied. Ive got them in. Bridge is working fine...neck is not..at first the volume pot didnt make the volume go down but it does now..but the main problem i have is the lack of output from it. as far as I know ive wired everything correctly...any ideas what could cause this? i followed wiring diagram 1 in the instructions.
