You need EMG 25 K pots for the active pickups! The model 60 should plug right into the existing wiring harness.

sup star...i kno you're the emg guys on the board so i figd id come to you....i jus picked up and ltd vper 400 really cheap...but it needs a neck pick up and new pots..the tone is dying and the volume is always fully cranked...my question being can i use a standard pots with emgs and also if i get a 60 to replace my neck pick up then all i have to do is mount it in the pick up ring and jus plug into the existing harness?(do esp ltds come like that?)

It is hard to tell without the guitar here in front of me.
    Is the 9V battery good?
are you using the EMG input jack with battery clip?
you might have the positive and negative wires reversed coming from the input jack

hello there, do you know anything about wiring zakk wylde set 81/85 pickups? i wired mine in as shown in diagram in an epiphone zakk wylde, but they only work with the jack half way in and then the volume pots dont work at all. i have made sure that the connectors are the right way up on the pickups as advised on the emg website and mine are the correct way up. can you help at all?i have a three way switch with asian epiphone wires.(3 wires blue yellow and red each with internal hot wire with ground wire outside before final cover)
