The case is one of the discontinued Gibson Lifton-style cases that Gibson used to use with their reissues. In what I like to call The Deal of the Century, I got the Tokai Reborn Old and that case (and the extra set of pickups) from Craigslist for $800 total. (Of course, this doesn't come close to offsetting all the times I've overpaid for guitars. . . .) I'd love to see a photo of the guitar NSCS is building for you when its finished.

I gave NSCS the specs for the neck (thickness, width, headstock angle and tenon), but I went with the same body they were using for LP style guitars. When I ultimately compared the body thickness measurements to the chart in the Beauty of the Burst book, I noticed that the body is about .5 centimeters thin. I've asked NSCS to follow the Bartlett/Eastern Maple Tops plans for the guitar I have on order now.

The pickups are old Burny VH1s that came with a Tokai Reborn Old I had. The Reborn Old also came with the original Tokai pickups, so I had the those put back into the guitar and sold it, but kept the VH1s because I wanted to use them in the NSCS guitar. The wiring is very ordinary, but I upgraded the caps after I got the guitar to the Soviet PIO K40s, which are great. (I'm putting Duncan Antiquities in the guitar I have on order, with Gibson 50s wiring and Luxe capacitors.)
