Alright Tom, hows it goin? You looking at any guitar-related purchases? I just sold my epiphone so will need to replace it at some point. The plan was to sell it and buy a fender so I had something different, but am considering buying another les paul. Think its an addiction!!!!

Hi Tom, yeah still lovin the R9. Going to Glasgow this weekend, will prob pop into guitar guitar. Still can't believe the savings we made from GAK. Unbelievable, since then I don't think I have seen a R9 for under 3K!!! How you getting on with your R9?

Former friend and great drummer coleague of mine Neil Greenlees lived in Crookston before escaping to the west coast. He stayed two doors away from Alex Harvey!
I got my historic through a US dealer on eBay. Took a chance on the sound to get it at a discount when the £ was in better shape against the $. After customs got their cut it cost me about £2200. Luckily it sound great. Bit brighter than US standard. I don't know if that is a quirk of the guitar itself or whether historics are generally brighter.
About a monthor so after I got it, Sound Control in Glasgow had a couple, and both were selling for £3k. One of them had a more uniform flame than mine, but neither of them sounded as good imo. I was in Guitar Guitar last week and they have two as well - but the prices are ridiculous. I guess I got mine just at the right time; but I do still have a craving for a P90 equipped Gold Top or 'burst :-(

    Hi Tom
Thanks for the invite. I see from your profile that you've been around the forum a while. Also, what a great collection of guitars - very impressive!
I suppose it's not so strange to find a near-neighbour on here. I'm in Cambuslang. Where are you?
    Cheers

Thanks a lot Tom, really appreciate you and the other guys putting my midn at ease. The guy must have been pulling my leg, or doesn't know as much about Les Pauls as he thinks. I reckon he is just miffed that I turned down his '80 Deluxe GT, which was ridiculously priced at £3000!
    Cheers

    Tom
