Right on bro! I actually have a calibrated set of Holy Divers on their way. I hope it sounds good enough for me to keep it. lol! Thanks for all the info though, or I may have ended up ordering some Rebel Yells for my guitar... and after some diggin' around on the net, I guess they made the Holy Diver to (supposedly) be a better JB. I don't have any problems with the JB in my Custom, was just looking for something different. Hell, maybe I should have just saved some money and got a JB for it! lol! Anyway, keep me updated on your purchases guitar/gear/whatever... can never have enough info on guitars!

    Later- James

I can't really say if the other pup is a holy diver or not it may just be a RY that for what ever reason sounds really different from the other one . I don't think the HD and the 500k pots will be to bright , you might want to drop the HD in and try it without changing the pots . Mine sounds good with the original pots .

That's great news. So, was the pickup that you originally thought was a Rebel Yell a Holy Diver then? Also, do you think that this guitar with the Holy Diver and 500k pots will be to bright? I was on the fence like you about even keeping the guitar. This is what kinda led me into procrastination mode... and the fact that I NEED a new nut put on it as I had a breakout on the D string. This is going to be the take it everywhere, and not really care about it guitar anyway. I just want it to sound good and heavy!

Cool. Very interested in hearing about the outcome. You did say you also installed cts 500k pots all around, correct? What was in there originally? 300k? I would imagine so as this is a very bright guitar. Anyway, thanks for keeping me updated. Will be nice to know the verdict! lol!
