Hey, spr, doesn't seem to be room for a reply in the "vintage amps" thread - thought I'd write to you here. Your twin's sound got thinner with two fewer tubes? That's a shame! Mine - somehow - became deeper and thicker sounding, a little softer in the way it feels and at the same time, more responsive. I was hoping your amp would open up the way mine has. But mine was in bad shape, and a good candidate for blackfacing, and some upgraded diodes; the reverb is on both channels ... the amp guy I go to knows a lot about how to get these amps singing. I hope you find another solution - when a Twin is working the way you want it to, it's hard to beat. As I'm sure you know. Best of luck with it. Take care!
