Teeloh, sorry for the late reply. I never look at that thing in the top right-hand corner saying I have messages/notifications as I get so few. My apologies.

Anyway, it's a terrible thing what happened to your 71 GT. How are the repairs going? Your 72 Deluxe sounds a sweet guitar too. My 70 probably started out as a Deluxe, but it was in Standard specs when I bought it. It has full sized humbuckers in it, the neck is a T-top, i haven't been able to check the bridge one yet. The routing looks professionally done though. It has had Grover tuners put on it, and the finish is black, which I think is a re-finish. I keep on meaning to take it to Jacksons Rare Guitars here in Sydney for an appraisal, but it isn't cheap, but I'm curious as to it's value, for insurance, and the year it actually is. The serial number could be 70, 71 or 72, but the pot numbers, from what I can tell that aren't covered by solder date them as very late 69, which is why I think it's a 70 Les Paul.

    Cheers, Peter.

The 71 GT I referred to in my April message is the one which arrived broken: see 'Norlin tragedy' which is my thread. I also have a 72 deluxe.

I have a 71 GT on the way. I am not sure how to upload images, or I would show you what the fellow in CN, USA sent me. It shld be here any day now.

I also played a 69 BB (which you can see on the jacksonsrareguitars.com site) but was not in love with it.

    How about you?

Suze Demarchi was incredible. I would fully like to thank Nuno Bettencourt
for ruining their second album, and probably a promising music career.
