Yes I did get my R9 from you! I had been looking for a nice R9 for a while, and when I came into the shop and you got it out from the display window, I was really happy with the way it felt and played, and it has a really nice top too! I had tried some of the other Historics in Gallin's previously, but I really loved that one.
It was kind of a birthday present. I had just gathered up enough of my savings by then, and I got some money from my sisters and girlfriend for my Birthday which helped me a lot, so I thought I would treat myself and go pay it off.
You were very helpful, and I am glad you got that as one of your first sales, and thank you for giving me such a good price. Lord knows they are quite expensive, so the discount really helped me make my decision. I used the guitar at a gig a few weeks back and it sounded great. I use a Vox AC-30 and they seem to complement each other well! We are playing at The Annandale in a few weeks on the 6th November, so if you are not busy come down and say Hi.
Do NOT buy a Shamray -- Trust me on this one. I was negotiating a guitar for awhile, but the amount of delays, mis-information (ie lying), and errors would put off even the most tolerant client. My advice is to save your bucks and go with a respected luthier that will give you a guitar that you'll love and be proud of.
Hi Shannon. Thanks for the compliments on the guitar -- Dave did a wonderful job. I know he's very busy at the moment, and I believe that he's not taking on any more projects this year so that may be why your emails are going unanswered.
If it were me, I'd "get in line" and just wait to have Dave work on it -- It''l be worth the wait.
As far as cost goes, I had my guitar refinned a few years ago before Dave's reputation exploded all over the internet so he may have changed his prices. I think it was around $400, but I can't remember for sure.
Keep me posted on how your guitar turns out.
