It made it way more vintage sounding IMO. One thing though, I run a Clapton board in mine, which does use a .022. I'm not sure if a .022 might not be a touch bright for a normal Strat - they use a .047 I think?
But the Q is way, way nicer than the OD that came in the Fender kit.
The quote is from the July '08 issue of Tone Quest. It is an excerpt from a letter written by the late Ken Fischer of Trainwreck amps.
Ken states, "When installing a tone cap in your guitar, use test leads to jump in a particular cap and listen to how the cap affects the tone as you turn the tone control down. Then, if you reverse the leads on the same cap, it will sound different! Solder the cap in permanently using the direction that sounds better."
