You should either clip off or use that extra ground buss wire. Antenna and potential short, otherwise.

No, they don't work in a Tele's recessed jack, unfortunately. They work in Strats though! You'll want a straight jack for a Tele or one of those "half-straight" ones.

Are those 90 degree plugs long enough for a vintage Telecaster jack?
