Cool, I was actually 2nd in line but number one decided not to buy bumping all of us up a notch.
I haven't played it and probably won't. I have all 3 versions of the number 1 and haven't played them either. I also just got the signed and played #2 from them.

Yes, I have lots of pics on the thread I started on the LP forum. I think I was the first guy to get a JP2. JP2 - Les Paul Forum.

Yeah I use a Fender heavy pick too. I think the EB .009's play very nice on the Page 2 because the set up is so unbelieveably good. Give them a try and find out. If you want to go to .010's that won't effect anything with the setup other than adjusting the intonation but I intonate every time I change strings even if its the same of type/size set.

did the 9's really change the tone that much, for i also always use 10's and i find that
9's are a bit to flimsy for my style of play being i like to use a heavy pick 1.14 or heavier. what was your impression of both the action differances and the tone when you went to the heavier gage. thanks fellow page 2er

The Gibson .009's didn't impress me at all. They buzzed and didn't sound good. I tried raising the action and they still buzzed. I could tell it wasn't the guitar; it was the strings. I put on a set of .010 Ernie Balls and the buzzing went away but so did part of the Page tone. I put a set of .009 Ernie Ball Super Slinkies, lowered the action down a bit and it is fantastic. It plays like butter and the tone is thick and sweet. With these I can get great pinched harmonics and full bodied power chords. If you are after Page tones I would recommend this set. Generally I have always used .010's on Les Pauls but for this guitar I really like the .009's.
