Yeah you can test the pickups fairly easily, best way since you are having troubles is to detach pickups wires from switch/pots and use bench meter to test for ohms or continuity. Are they 2 lead or 4 lead wires?

Hey can't tell for sure by pics, but buzzing may be caused by some things touching around switch area?

I use a Weller pencil type 23 or 30 watts, some say it is not hot enough but I use a chisel tip(keep clean) and keep it screwed in tight. Works great less chance of warping an overheating pots that way, 40 watts max is plenty IMO.

Well yes and no on those Bee caps in an LP. They will give you a Sweet Tone for sure, but you won't be able to roll them off to far before they get dark and muddy. I will include a diagram for bleed kit, it basically solders across the two Hot lugs on volume pot.

Yeah they all read a lot Darker than than should, still great caps for Tele or Strat. I already have about 6-10 of those .047's, I think you should keep them and test them in a couple of guitars and see how they work for you. I appreciate the offer, but I think you should keep them fr youself bro? Hey BTW I am mailing your .015Q Tone cap & Bleed out today, I thought that had gotten mailed out. but it hasn't so sorry about the delay. My wife does a lot of my shipping for me. Her MS flared up last week and she was not feeling good so we are a little behind. Thanks, jonesy

Well besides the color coded stripes, you need a multui-meter that will read Capacitors, I use the 200uf range and find that to be most accurate. Not all meters have a setting for testing caps.
