LPV, does Italmelodie on jean-talon , have a website? Can you give me any info on them. I'll be in Montreal for a couple of days in July. Thanks.

Yeah, which I stated in the thread. Ace's main LPs in the early days were two Tobacco Deluxes with full sized buckers. He was never seen onstage with anything else. Paul didn't play Les Pauls live at all with a couple of exceptions. The "vintage" crowd like to blow smoke up people's asses to make themselves look good sometimes.

Actually, the second Deluxe doesn't enter the picture until '76.

I've read the Million Dollar Les Paul.. I dunno how much of that Ace and Paul thing is true.. One of those might have been Ace's #2 Tobacco "smoker" which he promptly smoked until the neck fell off. I can see Paul being that dense, but Ace knew/knows his stuff about LPs.

Killer. Of course, sound being subjective, YMMV. I think it sounds like the '70s 1987 head I had oh, so long ago... FYI, the one I got is the 1987 lead, but Ceriatone makes JCM800s and 1959s (100 watt Plexi), and a mess of other amps, including Dumble and Trainwreck clones.

The Ceriatone was fine coming through Customs. They did add Duty, PST and GST, so it was about $250 more when I picked it up. I bought the completed chassis, but no headshell - that saved about $300 ($150 for the headshell and $150 in shipping). I think the chassis was about $850 USD including shipping. Nik was supposed to show a lower amount on the invoice, but I guess he forgot.

I built my own headshell for it, tolexed in blonde to match my Fender 2x12, but I bought a 4x12 before the head arrived, so now they don't match . When you factor in the time, cost, and aggravation of building and covering the headshell, I'd advise you spend the money and get a pro to build one for you.

    Hello,

you seem to know a thing or two about chambering. To prevent starting another topic on this subject (that will inevitably be soiled with messages like "chambering sucks" and "what does it matter") I'd rather send a knowledgeable guy a message.

Could you tell me in what way the Les Paul Standards from October 2006 are chambered ? There are so many different ways of chambering that Gibson applied to guitars over recent years:

    - BFG
    - Cloud 9 / Chambered Reissues
    - Elegant
    - Smartwood
    - Supreme
    - Ultra (Epiphone)

thank you for your time and take care,

    V!N
