Riv, $5500 for what is obviously genuine old wood with a lot or originality and mojo is a steal. For about the same money on top that could be a conversion, or put back to how it ought to be. A $10K conversion or '53 GT is a bargain - your instincts are good as far as I can see. Liam

Re someone deserves a slap - thanks for making me feel less than a total dipshit. I know you didn't do it for me, but thanks nonetheless. I'd've paid that money for that guitar based on your and maybe one other member's say-so. Maybe my instincts aren't that bad.

Thanks for listening, and especially for the feedback. I'm starting to figure a few things out. I'm posting the results that are at least intelligible here: User contributions for RiverCO - Wikimedia Commons

Hi Mate, really enjoyed the boogies. The overdubbing is pretty dense. I definitely get the Bolan reference too, not just the tone, but you've got a similar feel to him. Really not sure about the drum patterns you've chosen, kind of disappear into the mix a bit. You'd find it dead useful to get a bass line down just to get more of a feel for how the drum pattern is working against everything else.

Great stuff though, I LIKE out of control reverb. Did you hear any of the T Bone Burnett stuff with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss? Reminded me of that a lot...

This one is just an equipment/sound/methodology check. No attempt at an intro nor ending.

Everything on both is me, except for the drums (robotic). I haven't yet attempted to add any bass lines or the like. I may be carried away with the over-dubbing. The reverb is literally out of control, as it was being introduced twice in the signal chain and I only knew about the once.

    Thanks, in advance, for listening.

Here's ya go, Liam. It's the first recording I've ever let even my wife hear. I've been teaching myself to record for about a week now.

Please feel free to critique in any way (except to tell me to practice more). I value your feedback.
