Hi Liam,
I found you while googling for vital Marshall JMP amp info. I want to convert a JMP2204 from 6550's to EL 34's. My tech seems to think it is a matter of just re-biasing the amp, but I think I've read online there is more to this conversion than that.

I have some 1970's xf2 Mullards I want to put into this amp to get me back to that creamy rich Mullard sound. It is a US released amp made for 6550's, but, someone just dropped Groove Tube EL34's into it and I suspect they biased it way cold cuz distortion is fizzy farty at low volume levels.

What is the difference between the SED Winged "C" EL34 and the Ruby Winged "C" EL34? I am thinking about upgrading the tubes in my 2008 Bogner XTC 101b. I am very interested in the Winged "C" tubes.

Re someone deserves a slap - thanks for making me feel less than a total dipshit. I know you didn't do it for me, but thanks nonetheless. I'd've paid that money for that guitar based on your and maybe one other member's say-so. Maybe my instincts aren't that bad.

Hi liam. saw a post ref bd-2 keely. where did you source parts.. What differences good and bad did this mod make over stock? I get a 'spitting crackle from my stock when gain is over12 o clock..you familier with this? (I am using a 498t bridge which is hot 12.3k) Thanks
