Hey Lefty, the volume bleed kits are a small cap and resistor that goes across the 2 hot lugs of your volume pot. Normally as you turn down your volume your tone will start to get muddy, worse on neck pu/ than bridge. The bleed kits keep Tone crisp at any volume. Some people think you don't ned them with 50' wireing but not so, My LP has bleedkit on neck but not bridge,
Peace, jonesy
Thats a pretty good deal. Elitists are built like Gibson Historics for the most part. Long tenon, solid (although 2 piece) bodies (no weight relief or chambering) - Gibson style truss rod (yup - 2 screw TRC), 1 piece neck, bone nut, ABR bridge, USA pups - its all there. That would be a great guitar - factory 2nd or not.
Elitists were made in left handed models - google "Epiphone Elitist Lefty" and you'll come up with some expired links for lefties for sale, and the occasional ebay or craigslist hit.
RE: Epiphone Dot. Thanks for your kind words! And I'm very happy to tell you that the Epiphone DOTs I have (and play in the videos) are stock. And they're just the regular ones.... not Elitist. I really enjoy the way they sound. I also have a couple of DOT Studios (stock) and I really like them also. If you ever end up getting a DOT I look forward to your New Guitar post! : ) Happy Thanksgiving!! Dave
