The guy's name was Hiroaki. He was extremely helpful with everything. Give him my best. And thanks a lot for the heads up on this Kuroyama. I'm so happy to be getting this sweet little guitar.
Happy New Year! Apologies for the delayed response. Youre going to the Kansai (west) area of Japan. I live in the Kanto area (east). The two are not close enough to travel without making a whole expensive day of it unless you have your own aircraft(?).
Are you here on business or family or ...?
If you hit up the Tokyo area I can direct us to some good shopping. If not, I can check some ads for the Kansai area and just send you some heads up as to whats out there and where it is, but most of the best bargains are only out there for a day, maybe a couple before they go "on hold" or get bought outright. Also, Ive never shopped in Kansai so I cant personally speak for any of the shops.
Hi Kuroyama,
Merry christmas and a happy new year !
I'm heading to Japan sometimes early next year on an official trip. Was also on the lookout for some good MIJ EPIs (including the elitists). I'll be getting some time for myself so if you could suggest some good shops where one can buy MIJ LPs, that'd be great.
To start with, I know for sure I'll be visiting Kobe and Matsuyama, dunno how it goes from there on.
I do know who DCOOPER is. In fact I kind of figured that's probably who you were trying to send a message to. He has quite a collection of guitars. If Epis started being highly sought after he would make a fortune if he sold them.
I only own 3 guitars. They are Gibson Les Paul Vintage Mahogany, Samick acoustic guitar, and a Tacoma acoustic bass. I was a decent player before I bought the LP but my playing has gotten me more compliments since I bought it. The MLP forum is fabulous. The people here are super nice and very knowledgable and happy to offer help to others.
I have left my VM alone except straplocks. I love the tone I get. I play mostly clean music. I play at my church all the time. Right now I barely have any time to play anything else. It gets like that just before Christmas, and Easter. I also love playing Blues and Jazz. I have been working on solo's, before it got busy at church. I have been studying Charlie Christian. He was one of the pioneers for the modern jazz guitar sound, as well as one of the first to play single note solos. He died way to young, but his influence lives on.
