The hum is not a big issue. These guitars are godly sounding and videos just can't capture the tone or volume. My tech almost $h!t his pants when he plugged it in. He ended up playing it for over 30 minutes before his boss asked him to get back to work!! Granted I had him put in a lollar +5% P90 in the bridge. I'll send you PM with more info.

I put in a PIO & CTS 550k 10% harness and a Lollar +5% P90 bridge pickup. It made a HUGE difference. The stock bridge PU absolutely SUCKED. It was thin and icy. Now it's huge and crazy sounding. Sorry about the pic. After seeing your avatar I took a pic of my white custom and my black '54 reissue resting next to each other. I have it in my pics on my profile page if you want to see it.

It's a '54 reissue with upgrades...can you see the pic of my 2 customers that I posted on your page? Sometimes they don't show up.

When I have a chance this week I can upload a demo of my OR50! After around two o'clock on the gain control, in comes the third stage, which takes you into metal levels of distortion if you so desire – certainly not a feature of the 1972 amp! It's a thick, rich drive with tons of bottom end though, with the 50-watt power stage, metal isn't perhaps best served.

The ORs really have that classic saturation at higher volumes. The Thunderverb/Rockerverbs have more of modern gain sound that still retains the punch and clarity Orange amps are known for.

I mainly play through my vintage 1972 Orange OR120. But I do have the OR50, Thunderverb 50, Rockerverb 100, TT Hard Wired Edition and the Jim Root Signature model. I use the PPC412 cab open back.

    Thanks man! That really helps!
IIRC, the guitars the infamous Nico had before he left were 55s. I think a goldtop, and one of the bursts.

Thanks man, that really clears things up! The neck thing sounded familiar, I'm sure I've read that before somewhere at some point, but the rest was new to me. Now, as P-90s are wider then humbuckers I believe, are the routes themselves different at all from a standard humbucker route? But the pickup rings with cover the difference, is that right?
    Thanks,
    Kzuu

Hey, I was looking at your customs, and I was wondering what made the ebony one a '55 hot mod, and not just a '57? I assume it has a mahogany body then, but what might discern it from a 57?
    Best Regards,
    Kzuu
