No doubt. That group photo is my full stable, less the old Hofner (which I need to drag back out). I've only ever thought of the R8 and '92 as redundant, but in many respects they all are. The Variax, which can also do Tele, Rick, Martin, etc. has already fooled several people, and is at least one person's favorite.

The differences are remarkably subtle. Many of them come back to the fore with good phones - but they're still subtle. And your eyes and mind really do play tricks on you. When I knew which was which, they sounded "more different". When I shuffled them so even I didn't know which was which, I could not identify them all anymore. "Love the one you're with."

They never work when I put them in VMs, but the names give it away. I don't start very many, so should be easy to find.

Same neck of the woods. Check out St. Maries.

Thanks for you help last night - I found the software, it's not bundled anymore, but is a free download.

Sounds bad. Whereabouts? My sister used to live up there.

Tks. It's a Nikon 55-200 zoom mounted on my Nikon D-40, no filters. I was about 2-3 miles out of town, zoomed in all the way - peaks are about 8-10 miles from where I'm standing.

Got this today of Crestone Needles (just south of Mt. Cookie). I didn't notice the two avalanche trails until I "developed" the photo.
