Well, I got the L&M box today and just finished my first session. It covered a bunch of stuff I had already picked up between reading on the Internet and hanging out with a buddy of mine who plays but i figure I will stick with the lesson plan and make sure I get the fundamentals down. I caught it on one of their many three day sales ($100 off seems like as soon as one of the three day sales ends another one starts) and it seems like money well spent. The guy that I took a lesson with was getting $40 an hour so this is really pocket change compared to that. Of course he could answer questions.
According to the promotional materials, I should be playing actual music inside a month or two. Is that likely? I reckon it'll prolly take a little longer before I can hang with Billy Gibbons.
Either way, thanks for the recommendation.

Dave you're gonna sound like Slash compared to me. I've been playing with guitars since the end of May and still barely know anything. That's a big part of why I was glad to read a good review of the Learn and Master system, I've been using the Hal Leonard Method, but it's so dry I have a hard time getting motivated. I know some first position notes and a chords and a couple of scales but have no clue what to do with them. I'm still at the four or five note song stage.
An Elitist? I've read those are pretty nice.

Good deal. I work six days a week, and this Sunday is full up. Maybe next week? Give me a shout, names Chris. I understand there's a new brewpub over your way, or there was last year anyway, maybe show me something on the guitar and I'll buy you a beer.

Hey GNR, I'd send you a pm, but I went to public school and can't figure out how. I know Lusby, I keep my boat over on the Navy rec center at Solomans. I get over that way occasionally, give me a shout sometime if you feel like showin a rank beginner some tricks on the guitar, or if you're interested in having a look at my silverburst, it's got a made in Korea sticker on it and the serial number works out to the unsung plant 09/07. Were they still banging em out then?

Hello there GNR. So I have a little thread going in the Epi boards asking people's opinion on a possible purchase of a 2004 Epiphone Elite Custom in WR. The guitar is in Japan and i'm nearly set to purchase it shipped for 1100. It seems like a reasonable price to me being the guitar's supposed rarity and it's condition. Please refer to this thread and give me your opinion on the guitar. My only last concern is that it is not a fake. I really don't think it is, but having an expert confirm it would be ideal for me. I appreciate it!
