No, the part where the guitar solo goes is where you have to ad lib.
You don't have to write anything down, you just have to solo over the chord sequence shown. On the first tracks they give you a sample solo, then on the tracks minus guitar you ad lib your own. You are free to put in what you like. ( As long as it fits of course).
I'm not quite sure what you mean without seeing it. Can you scan a copy? It's all according to how they have written the chord chart.
