Wow, thanks alot for your help, i will get out there when i have the money together and get playing on a few. I think the 60's neck is my prefer choice because they are fatter, although i have never played a 50's before. I have played a range of guitars with slim necks, but i have never been able to get along with them. Something just feels so right when i play my epiphone les pauls.

I aprechiate that i will never recreate this one exactly, but i love the sound of this les paul and there is a kind of squeaky sound to the notes (if that makes sence) that i really love. This is ultimalty what i would like to achieve with a les paul, any advice?

I saw one of your posts and then i saw your signature....Wow! thats some collection of gibsons you have there. Needless to say i am insainly jealous!

You have inspired me to now save my money and take the plaunge and finaly buy a real gibson!

I am thinking of the Gibson Les Paul Traditional, they are the cheapest (not that they are actually cheap of course at £1600 or so) but they are not chaimbered i dont think anyway.

I have been doing a bit of reading on here in the les paul 101 section, and i found out about a lot of things i had no idea about when it comes to les pauls.

What i cant understand, is why somebody would want a les paul that isnt fully weighted, i mean surely thats like having a hamburger with no beef right?

Anyway, you seem to be a bit of a master of les pauls, do you think the tradional would be a good buy for my first real gibson?
