atm I like the idea of having SKY3DNET on here build me one of his clones or have beerdog build be a fuzzfactory clone. not too sure as of yet man but I will definitely make a thread as I'll also be showing the build, building cables, doing some adjustments on my lp too. Kind of MUDFINGER inspired

no man I'm still in the planning process actually. I think I'll just go with 14.5 by 6.5 by 1 inch board, add carpet and "L" channel aluminum, rubber feet on the bottom and use a onespot. It will do for now anyway, I only plan on using 4 pedals anyway. polytune, phase 90, carbon copy and a yet to be decided drive/distortion. I'll try to find a soft case or computer case for it.

    cheers

I like the EVH Phase 90. First, I like its tone. Second, I like that it's 2 Phase 90 pedals in one -- script and block logo. I use it for music ranging from Cannibal Corpse to Van Halen. I consider Van Halen to be classic rock and a little hard rock, so if the EVH is good enough for Edward...

I also researched reviews before getting the pedal and many were negative as you said. However, after trying it at Guitar Center and putting it in my chain I realized that many of the negative reviewers probably weren't using the pedal the right way or didn't put it in the proper spot in the chain. As far as quality goes, I think its tone quality matches the best phasers on the market and it doesn't suck tone in my rig. It also sounds great in the effects loop. The build quality is the typical MXR "built like a tank" construction. I also love its small MXR chassis.

The only thing I can do without is the stripey paint job, but that can be fixed.

I personally would try out all the guitars you personally can. Picking out a guitar is completely subjective. Les Pauls aren't for everyone. Try out SG's, V's, Firebirds, Stratocasters, Telecasters, and every guitar you can get your hands on. It would be very benifical if you could do that.

I hope you find your dream guitar.
If you have anymore questions don't be afraid to ask.

PS. Sorry for the late response, it's been a busy week. =)

Well there is no "best" Epiphones, but there are alot of good ones (I'll talk about this in the new post). I'd personally recommend either a Standard Plus, Goldtop Reissue, Custom, or Custom Plus (if you can find one on eBay). Or if you had the money try to find a used (or new) Elitist at your local guitar store or, again, on eBay. If buying on eBay be cautious (there are alot of fakes out there) and post what you find in the FAKE THREAD set up by fellow member Sinmastah.

Although, if this is your first guitar I would not recommend getting such expensive instruments. For one thing, it will force you to use your playing to sound good, in my opinion. Also, if you don't end up sticking with guitar it would not be worth buying something pretty expensive. For a cheaper instrument I would go for the Les Paul 100 or the Les Paul Special II.
