Hey dude, yea it's been a while lol.

I don't come on here that much anymore, but still pop in from time to time.

I'm doing good though. I'm actually in the middle of moving to Portland with a few of my old bandmates. So were trying to find a house right now.

How have you been? Got at good stuff recorded?

The guitars are absolutely amazing. I can't really describe how awesome they are. The standard feels like a cross between an SG, LP, and strat. They both hang beautifully and are super comfortable. The coil taps on the standard are actually incredibly useful and not just a gimmick. I find myself using it alot, plus with the push/push it's much easier to engage.

I'm going to keep the filmosound, I think. It's a fun amp with some cool tones, just not exactly what I'm looking for. I may keep it as a light and small backup amp. Maybe sell the ceriatone a bit down the line.

and yea, gear overload for sure. Sometimes I don't like having a job that pays well, cuz then I feel the need to spend it. lol

Yea, there are better options...for about twice the cash. I've been talking with Curt the owner of Granger amps the last few days and he's really knowledgeable and quick to respond.

Wow, gear overload lol. Tell me about the fiddles? Are they everything you expected? What are you going to do about the filmosound? You gonna sell it? I've checked out the grangers before/ They sound really nice. If you're going for the OG plexi tone though there might be better options.

Check out the demo's this guy has of the vari-watt. Vari-Watt Demos as Promised

You can't really tell the difference until he gets to the super low levels. The M50 is a looking a little more promising now.

So I ordered the orange 1x12 from stagecraft and a scumback m75.

I've been playing the daylighters through the filmosound, and while it sounds great, it's not really what I'm after. The Ceriatone is a bit closer, but it's a bit too dark and middy. So I'm back on the hunt for a nice amp.

The filmosound with the daylighter standard (named 'old crow') sounds almost like a like fuzz. It's very clean and punchy, but the lack of a real EQ hurts this guitar a bit I think. It's a very unforgiving amp in terms of EQ. Though it sounds great turned up to 3o'clock.

Anyway, gas attack again: Granger Amplification - M50 valve amplifier

I'm on the fence about that much wattage, even with the 'variwatt' power scaling thing. It just seems like I would never get to use the power for anything. But I don't want another 18 watt clone. Naturally, a plexi is the next step, but that amount of wattage might be absurd overkill for most everything and everywhere.

    Can't wait till Tuesday!!!!!

Also, I think I settled on a 1x12 from stagecraft. Stage Craft Gear Home Page

I kind of like the look of the orange cab on their front page.

yea, scumbacks and warehouse speakers seem to get a lot of praise on here. I can get that 1x12 loaded for $359 with a greenback, seems kinda pricey. All the custom cabs seem to go around that range though. Maybe I'll check out some other options.

That cab looks good. Have you haeardof scumback speakers? They sell a replica of the Vox silver bell (the precursor to the blue) for only $250. I'd go that route.
