To give you an idea... My iguana is around 5 months old, and has shed about 8-10 times in that time period....So on a healthy, balanced diet a young growing iguana will shed about twice a month until they reach adulthood, then they will shed a bit less, like most reptiles.

    Howdy

Your iguana should be getting a variety of foods....collard, mustard, and turnip greens rotated weekly at the very least. Also vegetables such as green beans, squash, carrots, and a variety of fruits.

Feeding once a day, preferably in the morning is fine, its feeding the variety of good foods that matters most.

When they are babies it will take them a while to grow up...depending on what they are eating they usually reach their adult size within 2-3 years, sometimes longer depending on the iguana.

Also, a source of UVB is a must, as well as a good calcium supplement for the food.

Are you keeping track of how many times your iguana has shed? That tells you how fast it is growing. If it's environment and diet are setup correctly, then it should be shedding quite often.

Hey Becky, I have a question regarding my Iguana. I have had my iguana since June 12 of this year and my iguana was a baby when I got it. I don't know how old at the time I got her. I feed her twice a day, some mustard greens and mango and she still looks like the day I got her maybe the tails has grown a little bit my iguana still looks small. Is this normal or she will grow eventually?

    thanks

No, it is going to shed. Lizards shed differently than snakes....it wont be in a solid piece...it will shed certain parts one day, and then do other parts another day and so on until all of it comes off. Make sure you soak it in a tub of warm water every day and that will help keep it hydrated and help the skin come off.
