Thanks for the kind words about my playing. I'm on a mission - someone here who plays 10 times better than I wants rhythm for a Clapton cover. I'm, like, kind of intimidated, but will get 'er done.

We have been horribly "had" here in the past - to the point of broken hearts. It's a big, red flag when someone gets all up in your face over your cynicism.

I took my responses to the level I did based on the over-the-top reaction(s) (from my viewpoint) to my simple statement of fact, for which I was called Hitler, Simon Legree, and everything but a white man. Being piled upon, which I now know was for some meant strictly in jest, was just too much.

Admitting to myself that I perhaps went too far, I've given my original positions and statements much consideration, yet I stand by them. And I still think the OP is exaggerating at best, lying at worst. He protesteth too much and made the thread about something other than the lies I honestly believe I caught him in.

"Dude's got a 'Burst!" is one of the most classic attention-getting claims made on forums like this. For better or for worse, he got his attention and I got mine. And he apparently feels much better about himself as a result.

My apologies for going over the top. I'm not here to make enemies either. I can't ask forgiveness due to anything beyond my control (inebriation, emotional distress, or any of that). I said what I said and I said it with a clear head. Based on your message, for which I thank you, I think you'll appreciate that makes my apology sincere. Sorry.

Since I'm the guy typing this, I don't feel much need in saying these are my opinions. Whose else would they be? You don't have to tell me that what you type is your opinion from now on ok? I get it.

Also, who else would I have been referring to when I said "holier than thou"? You think I was cowering from some sort of debate by being vague?

Finally, I'm not here to make enemies. I'm here to read about (and at times contribute to) music and guitar threads w/ like-minded folks. I've had some of my strongest disagreements with some of my best friends ever and always end up realizing it's because we're passionate about our opinions. No harm, no foul.
