Asdain:Bought it in April '10, and had to take two back due to reliability problems. The third has lasted, though not used much since I found my good deal on the Genz Benz El Diablo 60. The clean tone is very good, and the overdrive channel is good too, but only for vintage sounds. For more modern tones, the V22 needs some help from some kind of pedal. I have heard (but can't confirm) that the reliability problem I experienced has been fixed on later units. If so, the V22 would make a good, low cost small amp.

    Ahh.

I think it's a slightly more than subtle compression with not alot of attack, so the note has time to breathe.

Ah, the Gotoh bridge for Epi LPs. Just happen to have my stewmac catalog on my desk. You will want model #1511 for chrome, #1511-N for nickel, and # 1511-G for gold. The chrome and nickel are $21.75 + shipping. The Gold is $26.89 + shipping. You also get new screw-in studs with the bridge, and I recommend that you use them, as they seem a bid harder and tighter fitting than stock. I found the improvement in tone clarity with this bridge to be great!

I've heard it called soft knee compression and over easy compression. Same thing. I'm not a techie, so I can't explain that part to you. Tone-wise, it is a very subtile effect with long sustain. I have this feature on my dbx 166 rack-mount compressor, and I always have it turned on.

    Hi there,
Excuse my ignorance, but what is soft knee compression?

Hey man... You answered a question I had about a rattling bridge. You suggested a Gotoh replacement from stewmac. Is that the standard or the tune-o-matic? Thanks in adavance.
