hey there, sorry it took me a while to get back to you. i don't remember exactly what settings i used for the cs-3, since i didn't buy it yet and only tried it at the store. but, i think i had level in the middle, tone at 9 oclock, attack at 1 oclock, and sustain at 11 oclock.

    merry christmas to you

haha. I, the drummer, and the other guitarist kept quiet while the bass player did the turnaround, then he suddenly started doing some slap on his bass, so we hopped on it and did some funk, and I really can't put in any lead fills. funk really has a different feel.
BBE sonic stomp? i'm afraid I've never heard of it.
oh btw, I see your avatar is a boss blues driver. Allan, the guitarist down at the shop was curious about that pedal, he was interested in buying one. what are your thoughts on it? some friend of his said that it sounded a bit too thin.

me too. we almost always jam down at the shop even the bass player tries to switch it up once in a while. we do some slow blues that transitions into a funky groove it's just so much fun.
my rig, uhm. the only guitar that I have in my dorm room right now is a Samick Greg Bennett avion 3 with Jonesy's wiring and some seymour duncan aph-1's in it.
I play it through a marshall ms-2 or into a zoom g2.1u effects processor straight into my headphones, or into my marshall.
when jamming at the store, I usually just pick up an avion 3, or a samick malibu (strat style guitar that costs 250 bucks with a factory installed bone nut. it actually sounds and feels better than the squire they had on display) sometimes the samick formula (tele). i try out a lot of the guitars on display and plug it into either some samick amps or sound drive this sound drive 60W solid state

    sounds great.
and yeah, I know what you mean with the pentatonic lazyness
I really need to branch out more. almost everyday, after classes, I go to this local guitar store. and the staff and I usually jam using the instruments on display, and at times when we do some reggae or alternative stuff, I get lost, and can't put in a lead part just using blues, sometimes it works, sometimes it just sucks . so kind of a wake up call for me to start learning other stuff

    pretty good. You?
uhm, my playing. I could say that I've been seeing a steady improvement with my blues. and trying to branch out to some other genres.

Do you know, I have no idea of the science behind it. But I do know that I always set my dbx 166 on it, because it is the compressed sound I prefer.
