Yea, it's best to try both. I prefer the more open sound of the open back though.

They make open backed cabs, I'll try both and see which one is a little more suiting.

It's worth it to try and haggle either way. All they can do is say no, right?

I prefer an open back myself, but I don't know if Orange makes em that way. An added plus of the open back design is that it's a great place to store cables and pedals for transpotation. I put all my cables, wah, attenuator, and straps in there. It's kinda nice to have a lot of the time.

They actually sell them for about 300$ dollars cheaper than the internet companies and other stores I've checked out. The AD30 is 300$ less and the Rocker is about 200$ less. The dudes who run the store are kind of strange, but if they make commision I'm sure they'd be more than willing to help I'm gonna go with your advice and go with the 2x12 closed back cab.

Damn right. I checked the orange website about a month ago for my closest dealer. They were over 100 miles away! Just checked and there's one right up the street now! It's a used vintage store, so I figured maybe they had a few vintage ones. NOPE, they got the whole lineup and for cheaper than on the the internet! They must reduce some of the import cost or something.

The Ad30 has a tube rectifier and the Rocker has Solid State. These days Jimmy Page plays through the AD30. He has the single channel ones they discontinued, they replaced it with a twin channel.
