I know EXACTLY what you mean:
I owned a 2003 BRazilian RI, that sounded B A D and looked not that good
I owned a 2000 monster top ( was really a big tiem monster top)but sounded very modern bright and tight
I now own a 1998 R8 that looks really good ( not monster top but very very cool nd very close), and tone is butter fat.
so I see yours and I love the top but I wonder what the sound is.
