    Must be your 62 Reissue, a lot of Fenders seem to do that. I don't think any of my Tele's have that static problem with the pick guard, but most of them have the neck pu cover grounded or pick guards from Allparts or WD music.

    Very common problem, especially this time of year. Most likely static from the cover on the neck pickup. Run a separate wire for the cover of the neck pu (cut jumper on bottom of pu) and ground it to the back of the volume pot, or changing to a different pick guard material often solves the problem.

    Hello Brother.... I have a problem with my tele, I have some static when I play and my fingers hit the pickguard...

    I removed the pickguard and the static is gone.... No loose wires at all.

    This is weird.
