Ok.. I re-installed Win8 RP and I had the Win7 drivers for the sound card installed. When I restart Win8 I have to go into the Creative control panel and reset it to entertainment and the sound is back. Not a big deal and I don't have to mess around with the motherboard sound card or get another sound card.
