Hey atheos, I just saw your post about lefty robots, and I'm wondering if you still have the PDF you made about rewiring the motors because I have no clue how. Could you just flip the right side tuners with the left?

Atheos, I was reading over some old posts and you were referring to a fret job on a LP that was done in Indy. Just wondering if you could pass along a name and number if he/she does top notch work. I live in Indy and I have an old '79 LPC that is going to need new frets soon.
    Thanks!

    Atheos,

Update, not sure if a couple msgs I sent got through, we are thinking it might be later because of the shape of the pickup routes. Also, it looks like wood is missing between the switch and the neck, like they sanded it down. That is a HUGE deal to collector types. Friend of mine is also thinking the guitar could be oversprayed everywhere etc, which is also not so good. The sanding on the binding is also sort of bad.

Not trying to rain on your parade though, none of this stuff keeps you from playing it.

Its actually a 53, thats there's no serial. The stopbar is the thin earred early type. Also, don't change the nut. Worth too much according to a friend. One of the VERY first Customs ever.

FYI, the body is made from one hunk of mahogany, no maple top. Was probably 3 inches thick to start, then they shaped it down.

    Continued....

They make reissues of those tuners now, so if you want to take the originals off to preserve them, you can. So many possibilities!

Value? I wish you would take what I could offer (I would drive from Viriginia leaving right now ), but honestly it's more than I can afford. I would say 6-12k. Don't take that as gosphel though, do a lot of digging if you decide to sell it.

Very important, if you decide to play it for a few years etc and then you decide to get that hole by the switch filled and hidden and the gunk removed, the best guy in the business to do it is a guy named Dave Johnson. He is a master.

Good luck! And please sell it to me for half of what it is worth.
