Hey there! I'd like to remind you to come down to TAD and do some perusing. We're trying to get TAD back on track with all of the current members. You can talk to myself, Drew224, beginnerguitargod, or lpstudiored if you have suggestions for TAD.

I have 250K pots and .022 paper in oil cap in my Pine Tele with Sheptone PAF in the neck and Zhangs 8.6 Tarpaper single coil in the bridge. If it sounds thin and dry when the switch is in the middle then chances are they are out of phase. You can flip flop the + and - leads on one pickup or do the magnet mod on the neck pickup. Humbuckers and single coils are often wound or built out of phase from each other. Also try adjusting the pu's until you find the sweet spots.

    Nick,
it's a pleasure, and thank you!
Answer: YES, SGs work VERY well also clean. All three pickup positions are superb.
Naturally, you have to picks a GOOD sounding SG. It's always the same: a good sounding guitar will work well clean or overdriven (with the PROPER choice of amplifier). You know I am using GR4 at the moment (software!) and I have some great sounds with SGs clean.

209 is the Honeyburst guitar above the caption. It has a Chevron pointing toward the bottom of the guitar. Kinda subtle, but it looks pretty authentically faded. Pretty cool.

Yeah, lotsa dough. Go to this page and scroll down to LCPG209...

C*V Guitars - "PG Mod" Guitars

These are guitars like mine (the chambered Peter Green one). 209 is a honeyburst, but it's got an understated reverse chevron as well as mineral flecks and looks really cool. And, it's only $1999....
