Hey, acstorfer, I just read your PM...no prob on the earlier stuff regarding the Champion amp. I got a little ahead of myself, too because I have no experience with class A amps, but the concept with tubes is all the same. All my experience is with class AB amps, as this is what I have and my friends too. I have 3 Soldano's and one Marshall. All 6L6's and EL34's. I'm not sure what your Swart or Egnater have, but if it's something I'm familiar with, I'm happy to help. I think everbody should work on their own amps, for sure, instead of some tech raping you for money! Here's to mucho music talk!!

I absolutely love it. When you can turn it up, you hear every nuance with amp has to offer. At low volumes, it still has great tone and overdrive, but you are losing the differences at watt changes and tube mixes. Wish it had reverb, but not a biggie. I love playing old 70's (Led Zeppeling) thru 80's (Priest, Maiden), some modern and to tell you the truth, you don't need any pedals to pull it off (but I still love my pedals). Seriously, I love the amp and I hear they are putting out a 50W amp next year, can't wait to see what that one will do. Definitely worth jonesing for, I hope you pick one up, if you don't have too much funds, I was playing the amp thru my valve Jr. cabinet and that worked fine, I did pick up an Egnater cab finally over the weekend, but only because I wanted to have two cabs for it, with the option if a buddy came by that I could put the evj back together while I played the Rebel.
