Check these guys out:
Warehouse Guitar Speakers | Products Myself - just changed speakers and am using Celestion G12H-30s in my Vox AC30. It's a cross between the Vox chime & Marshall growl.

Re: WTB 12" 16ohm Speaker "British" flavor
I've got my ValveKing plugged into a Marshall 4x12 cab. It's got 8 ohm speakers and I've got it wired for stereo for 16 ohms on each side so I'm running it through one side (2-12's) and it sounds very good. The speakers are G12L Celestions. I'm thinking about putting two greenbacks in, one in each side so I have that nice mix of tone.
The 50w ValveKing has plenty of power to drive a larger cabinet. I don't know if you'll ever get the tone you want with a single 12" on an open back combo. |

If you like tight bass; Weber Silver Bell
If you like chiming mids; Weber Blue Dog I have one of each in my 2 x12" British flavoured cabinet.
