Fender American Vintage '62 Hot Rod Stratocaster

$1100 shipped & paypal’d in the lower 48.

Not looking for any trades right now. Local transaction in the SoCal area is fine too if you’re nearby.

This one is about a year old. It plays and sounds fantastic, but I’m more of a Gibson guy and just picked up a new historic SG, so this one goes.

I found the stock pickups a bit too tame, as I prefer more overdriven blues type strat sounds, so I dropped a new assembly in with a Van Zandt Rock bridge, and Texas Specials in the neck and middle. (I no longer have the original parts). It's quite the Roadhouse strat now.

Condition: It’s used, but could easily be hanging on the wall at a guitar shop. I pulled the neck to check the stamps on it, and since these are a snug fit, a little paint wore off the edges of the pocket. I hear that's pretty common.

There is a small pencil tip ding on the top below the bridge, and a small scratch in between the bridge and jack plate – neither of these go to the wood and although both are visible up close in person, I could not get them to show in the pictures and from a foot away you cannot see them. Just when you hold the guitar in the light. I've tried to capture them in photos, but they just don't show up well. They are pretty subtle.

The pickguard has some minor pick scratches from playing.

I lost the switch tip.

I don’t have a scale and do not know the weight. It does not feel extraordinarily light as I’ve heard some of these are, but it’s not heavy either, just about medium.
