Searching for a Paul

Hey guys, long time lurker of the board looking for some help.

I'm in the market for a les paul or a nice les paul style, I'd prefer a gibson but if something else catches my eye i'm not opposed.

so here is the deal, I've been looking at ESP eclipse standards which cost around $1500

with that said $1500 is pretty much my budget, I've been watching ebay and nothing really cool has caught my eye...the few LPs that did went way too fast for me to act so here is what I ask

any offers of les pauls in the sub $1500 range?

no real guidelines other than I absolutely do not want a studio, and i'm not too fond of gold tops

hopefully I'll hear from a few people here

thanks
-Bob

Re: Searching for a Paul

Here is one local to you. This guy says he will take offers.

Gibson Les Paul Standard

Here is another one but I would offer less than 1400
2008 Gibson Les Paul Classic (1960 re-issue)

Here's a 77 Custom you could try and offer 1500 for???

Re: Searching for a Paul

Good luck craigslist if full of scammers and hackers that list sales as a way of phishing for peoples information and never reply.

Don't get me wrong you can find some really good deals but its definitley hit and miss.

Even posting adds there is a pain because you get all kinds of scammers trying to crap. Hell even facebook has been getting bad latley. Its amazing what people will try and do to avoid an honest days work.

Buy the way if you offered 1500 for the 77 the guy might just laugh and not respond but it never hurts to try. Even at 1700 it seems like a pretty good deal. But I know you said you were on a 1500 dollar budget.

later,
Nick

Re: Searching for a Paul

he sent me some more details, and honestly it wasnt even worth the 1500 I have to spend

it had some weird things done to it that just didnt make sense to me, like a master volume knob mounted on the horn

thats going to be a tough sell to anyone IMO

Re: Searching for a Paul

Hey it doesn't hurt to look right? I thought it was all original. At least he got back to you.

Here is one close to me that if I could swing it I would love to put an offer on of 1300 or 1400. But I just can't do it right now. I do love the top on this one though. Maybe he would do 1300 or 1400 plus shipping for you??? I doubt it though? Alot of people don't want to ship stuff like this. Oh did I mention how much, I really love the top on this one LOL.

Re: Searching for a Paul

I have this one listed in these classifieds for 1600, but haven'y had any takers yet. I could let it go for 1500.

It's a '72-4 that's been played an awful lot, and has had some mods, but never any breaks. I've had it put back to near original using all gibson parts.

If you can't find the original listing for it, or want any more info, let me know.

Re: Searching for a Paul

bumping up my price range to $2000 SHIPPED max

looking for something intriguing before Friday otherwise I'm going for a new ESP Eclipse Standard because being without a guitar is killing me, so anyone who hasn't come out of the woodwork yet please come show what you have

Above all I'd like to thank everyone for their past and future offers, this place is really helping in the hunt. Unfortunately i just haven't seen anything that has gripped me as yet, aside from z-clays traditional but he's keeping it now and I can't say I blame him, it is beautiful.

Cheers,
Hope to see more good stuff

Here's a nice Les Paul. And yes, it's mine. I live 30 miles from Easton, PA, even closer to Bucks County. If you're not far you're free to come check it out.

Re: Searching for a Paul

thanks for all of the help guys, I finally made a purchase

I went with a new ESP eclipse, I just couldn't find a les paul that was screaming "buy me!" so until I find that guitar i'll have the eclipse

I got some killer offers on here and some not so killer ones but I appreciated every single one, I'll be posting pics of the ESP soon enough

cheers,
-Bob
