FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

Edwards E-LS-90LT Les Paul Special in blonde (whitish) with Lollar P90 in bridge. Accepting all trade and cash offers. Comes with HSC. All that I see on the internet are the TV Yellow. So this may be a custom or perhaps Artist series because of this and the fact that the TRC is different. Still researching.

Re: FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

Nice guitar mate. I'm confused though

As far as I know Edwards are Edwards

Navigators are Navigators.

Big difference between the two.

Re: FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

Hey Pinkbits. My understanding is that its a very fuzzy era, the early period. This guitar was purchased while the musician was in Japan. Some early Navigator's only had Edwards on the headstock before the Edwards brand actually took flight. This color is extremely rare. I couldn't even find ONE on the internet to compare to. I'm trying to gather more info now to add to the post. This guitar was acquired in a trade and I am a lefty. Otherwise it would never see the light of day in the Classifieds section.

Edit** This is NOT a Navigator as the title suggests. Sorry for the confusion.

Certainly not trying to be a dick mate . It's a lovely guitar either way.

As you would know a Navigator commands a much higher price tag than Edwards. I was just asking the question. Hopefully someone who know's much more about Edwards and Navigator guitars will chime in.

I had an Edwards 98lts a couple of years ago. Great guitars for sure.

I really like this one too. Good luck with the sale mate.

Edwards are Edwards and Navigators are Navigators. Parent company is ESP.

Nice stuff all around ... both. However, Edwards are NOT Navigators.

Nice Special though. How much?

Re: FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

Thanks Hank. It's a make offer of trade or cash situation. I'm a lefty so I can't play it. I traded an amp for her because I thought she has more value. The TRC is different than today's run of Edwards. And I'm finding some very early Nav's with Edwards headstocks....still researching.

Dang I love that guitar. I don't have any lefty guitars though, being a northpaw myself

What other stuff are you interested in? I've got some nice speakers, cabs, pedals...

Maybe.

All the "insider" info I've seen sez, "don't put much stock in the serial #'s on Edwards."

I have a hunch some numbers are put on older guitars coming outa the Japanese finishing facility.

You can prob at least determine when some Ed's were let loose for general merchandise release.

This looks like a typical killer Edwards. What's it weigh? Resonate like a hummingbird?

Looks like "thin coat" finish. Must be a nice one.

Re: FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

Thanks Tonebone. You might be right as late last night I read something similar. I don't actually have it in my hands yet. I traded for it and it is enroute. Just trying to expedite the process since I can't play it (lefty). The previous owner describes it as very light and the best playing Special he's had the opp to play, for what it's worth. Certainly SOMEONE has so gear to trade for her? The color is unique as I've only found two others on the net, one on a French forum and another on YouTube. Here it is for reference. Not the best vid but it goes to WOW at 4:59...killer tone. He mentions putting in a Lollar P90 so hell, maybe this is the same one. Could just be coincidence. Replaced wiring could be the tell tale.

Re: FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

Boy, I'd love to take this if I could. I missed out on a couple of TV yellow Gibson Les Paul DC with P90s in the $400 range, and this would be a great alternative! Problem is, the only currency I have is a righty Gibson Melody Maker in a similar color. *sigh*

Interested in a Fender "evil" twin(not the red knob, the pro-tube)?

Re: FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

Frails is absolute correct with the identification. Edwards started to date their guitar like this in 2004, before there are some handwritten pencil numbers inside the pickup cavity.
Nice guitar

Re: FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

How about it Joe? Take it off my hands so I can buy a lefty version? I never even considered a Special until I researched this one. I'm sold and will have one in the stables soon. Looking at a MIJ Tokai in fact.

Re: FS/FT Rare Edwards Navigator Les Paul Special

Hey, that's my video, I talk too much. I looked at my pictures of the guitar from before I sold it and apparently I never took one of the serial number. That could have have been mine.

If it's mine, both pickups are Lollar Standards and I redid the wiring with a kit from ACME Guitar Works.
