2003 Gibson Les Paul Historic ’57 Custom Black Beauty Reissue

SOLD!

2003 Historic '57 Custom RI. Lighter than average weight at 9.60 lbs. All original with no modifications. Burstbucker 1 & 2 pickups, Bumblebee caps, CTS pots, Grover keys, ABR, lightweight TP, long neck tenon, etc. The neck measures .921” at the first fret and feels like a typical R9 ('59) profile. Zero fret wear.

The condition is excellent with the exception of the back of the body which has significant belt buckle wear. Other than the buckle rash, there are a few light dings on the top and a small chip in the finish at the tip of the headstock. The back of the neck is clean. The guitar had extra light strings (.008”) on it when I acquired it, which may explain why there is not any wear on the frets. I’m guessing that the original owner wore big belt buckles and jumped around a lot more than he played.

Includes the black Custom Shop case and case candy as shown in the photos.

Hey guys.

Mec from Australia.

I have exactly the same guitar. Bought it in 1991. Just thought it was a standard Les Paul Custom, but figured out pretty soon it was a re-issue.

The only issue I am having is that the gold has all gone....well not rusty...but it goes spotty and off-colour.

Can I salvage it, or should I just buy new parts where the gold has disappeared ?
