Tokai Gold Top, "Tinman Tele", Burny LPC

Emails (or follow up emails) to: greg@gregamann.com is best. My home network is down and I cannot check TGP from there yet... bummer!
Major gear purge - This has to be it for a while, new baby on board, scaling down to two guitars and one "amp" (AxeFX). All prices are shipped/paypald to lower 48 US via UPS or FedEX (your choice). For paypal eCheck take off $25, but I can't ship until eCheck clears.

Tokai 2006 LS160 with Lollar Vintage Wind P90's: $1200
I'll let the pics speak for themselves, this one is off the hook. FAT 50's neck carve, bordering on baseball bat, but very playable imo. Original MIJ P90's included (and supposed to be nice) but this was upgraded with Lollars. Setup with 10's and currently wraptail style. Tonepro's style locking bridge, upgraded Kluson tuners (not sure why, the originals look exactly the same and our also included). NITRO, Gold Top, light ~8.5, big, round resonant tone, great electronics, braided wire, etc.... Schweet!
Oh yeah, check out the killer minty tweed LP style case it comes in!

"Tinman" Tele/Strat: $750
This is a build by our "Tinman" on TGP. This is hands down the best Tele I have ever owned (I've owned a lot) but it's NOT for the traditionalist. VERY unique:
One piece Mahogany body
1/4" Walnut top, incredible figuring
Bound top, all nitro (body and neck)
Indian Rosewood fretboard on quartsawn maple neck (highly figured) from Musikraft with mini-grovers
Fralin P92's which cover TONS of tones for positions 1-3-5. Dimarzio noiseless strat pup for positions 2-4, sqwak, jangle, stratty as all get out.
Currently strung up with 10.5's, action/intonation/playbility DEAD ON. ~8.25 pounds.
You will be surprised how great this guitar is and want Tinman to build you another one (which has does not do unfortunately). Includes Gator rectangular case in great shape with a sticker on it (can't remember what).

Burny Les Paul Custom in Black (upgraded): $800
Incredible LPC. All brass hardware and brass nut. Dimarzio Air Classic in neck, Super Distortion in Bridge. Possibly Brazilian Rosewood or Ebony fretboard on
big and chunky, perfectly tapered neck. Frets, binding, body, fret edge binding, headstock = all immaculate. Upgraded electronics, in the middle position with the bridge volume turned above ~8 on the dial the tone goes out of phase and creates a cool, modern cocked wah tone; it sounds awesome with gain for leads.
This is a big, bold, beautiful MIJ LP that just kills. This was setup/tweaked by TGP'ers Caretaker and sold to me by RockinLesPaul; both great LP lovers who
know their sh*t. I'm selling because I have to give the new Gibson 2008 LP Standard a shot - so far so good.
10lbs of pure tone heaven, includes very nice molded heavy duty SKB case. Setup with 9's installed, absolutely no reason to mess with success imho.

Bump. The Tokai has been sold and is on it's way to Canada, eh?
The Tinman is a killer TelePaulStrat type and won't disapoint.
The Burny is a monster of a classic MIJ LP, previously owned by RockinLesPaul who can vouch for it's playability and tone.

Re: Tokai Gold Top, "Tinman Tele", Burny LPC

Absolutely. The Burny is a killer guitar.

You cannot go wrong with that for the asking price. It blows away most Gibson LPC's I've played. Someone please buy this so I don't have to see it anymore!

Yes...sellers remorse. I told Greg I'd regret selling it and I do.

I've also owned a Tinman, although not that particular one. Great guitars, though untraditional.

Burny and Tinman Tele STILL AVAILABLE
NO TRADES!!! (need cash to fund recent Historic Reissue purchase)
Here are quick clips done using both guitars:

Clips of both guitars mixed together (notes say Epi Elite, but the Burny was used along with the Tinman Tele):
SoundClick artist: Greg Amann - Basement Recordings...

Quick mellow tune, Burny on the melody/lead:

Quick clip of the Tinman Tele running from bridge up to neck. This was thru a Ceriatone 2061x clone running direct into Hot Plate / Computer: SoundClick artist: Greg Amann - Basement Recordings...

Them's some mighty strong words 'round here.... It looks like a real nice guitar, but how does it 'blow away' a Gibson Les Paul Custom?
Congratulations on selling the Goldtop.

Re: Tokai Gold Top, "Tinman Tele", Burny LPC

Good deals to be had. I have taken down the Burny everywhere else but here -- I am really torn with selling it and even considering keeping it and moving one of my new Historics. RockinLesPaul owned this one before me and knows of what he speaks (I believe he owns/has owned some original Gibby's, Historics and even custom built replicas). The guy who set up the Burny did a kick ass job with the upgrades and it's painful for me to list it, but it is what it is... prospective buyers on the Tele or Burny can also email me:
