Would also consider trades.
![]() Maybe an older Les Paul Standard around late 90's early 2000. Would prefer a burst.

bump it along............The Line 6 Pocket Pod, the Di Marzio pickups, & the Valve Junior are still available, I guess that people are broke. Oh, to answer one enquiry I don't have Paypal, I'm more of an old face to face type guy. So I guess they're for Sydney people.

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
Congrats on the Murph, aside. Double congrats on getting it sold during the GFC.
What I have I have nothing for sale, but will have at some point (am not so skilled with the camera). At the risk of thread-jacking, some of you may find this useful. Instead, I have something close to 'free to good home'. That is, my fellow orstrayans, the arrangement: you pay the postage, then you get what i describe for free. nada. nix. So: here goes: 1. Strat scratchplates. i have one black H-S-S, one mint green S-S-S. the minty one still has the sticky plastic film, so it's never used. black one lightly used. Postage minimal, probably AU$1.50 or so. 2. Strat 5-way switch. Made by dimarzio, still in its little plastic box. less than AU$2 postage. 3. Epi humbucker. never used by me, had it so long I just dunno. 4. Plenty of end pins (none Schaller, two of the Dunlop locking variety) to suit an assortmt / variety of instruments. In each case, PM me for email, pics, other details. I may take a while to respond. But it's free, right? t |

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
stayed in Sydney actaully, which is nice. A few more below though
--------------------- Both these guitars were chosen for they're fantastic tone above anything else. They have been used for pro recording sessions only for the last 7 years or so and are setup perfectly and ready to rock. Literally dozens of players over this time have used them on recordings and the comments are always pretty much the same "holy crap this sounds f$%n great !" I'd like to think it is my skills as a recording engineer/producer but alas, I think I'm just good at buying really great sounding gear ![]() Going on eBay soon, a local cash sale (Sydney) would of course be great, but happy to work with interstate buyers. Original 1969 Fender Telecaster - $5500 or best offer Heaps of pics here: http://s73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...aside301/tele/ Body in good nick with original blonde finish yellowing a little for great vintage vibe (original, factory paint). There are some in and outdoor photos, with the latter making the finish somewhat pale. It's a little more yellowed than that, I think this is quite representative: ![]() Few chips and marks etc. but a good 8/10 for a 60's tele. Original neck feels great (not too slim), and is more desirable all maple construction (not maple capped, and rosewood tele's are just not the same!). ![]() Pro refret with period correct wire, done beautifully by Piers Crocker in Sydney. Fretboard was re-lacquered too as the surface wasn't very playable - done very nicely by Frank Grabisa - now plays like it did in 1969! Tuners, saddles*, knobs, wiring, strap buttons, ferrules, switch and tip, string tree, logo, bridge, guard, bridge pickup, neck plate and screws, jack plate original. Tone pot original, but volume replaced, although the original is included (works fine, the taper wasn’t to my liking though). Original case included, although it seems to have stored a tele deluxe for many years (you can see the imprint on the inner lining!). * Glendale brass saddles currently installed, but original steel ones are included. The brass ones sound fuller to me, and have better intonation. ![]() ![]() Neck pickup is a great sounding Rio Grande replacement, and its cavity was once routed professionally. It has since been pro restored including perfect colour matched paint, and is now barely noticeable. This is of course under the guard only, and is done so well that I had real trouble getting a shot of it. In person, you can just see there was a route but I think the price is sufficiently reduced to allow for this. ![]() Overall guitar is in the lightweight range, no 70's heavy stuff creeping in yet. Only have bathroom scales and it reads about 3kg. Serial no. is 277549 (early-mid '69). Pots are dated 1376632, and 1376636 (both from 1966). As mentioned, you can pop the old volume pot back in but the new one has a nicer taper in my opinion. 1998 Gibson ES-335 Nashville Custom Shop '59 Reissue - $4000 or best offer Pics here: http://s73.photobucket.com/albums/i2.../aside301/335/ This is a great 335. Very balanced guitar tonally between pickups and a comfortable weight (mid 8 pounds, which is under 4kg). Retail price on these bad boys was over $8000 a few years back, and is now $9999, so grab a bargain! Very hard to find in Australia at a reasonable price, I have priced this fairly for a quick sale (before I change my mind ![]() DO NOT get this confused with the regular production (Dot reissue), or Memphis 335’s, these Nashville custom shop reissues eat them for breakfast. I tried a lot of 335's before getting this one, including a '60 and '64, and this held its own. These really are the best 335’s Gibson have made since ’64! ![]() 1959 style features including fairly chunky neck (not a baseball bat, similar to the ’59 reissue Les Pauls), long guard, replica orange label, kluson tuners, nickel hardware, brown Gibson hard case etc. Factory original including the great sounding ’57 classic pickups. Beautiful deep cherry finish like only Gibson can. Some of the pics make it look more orange, the below one is about how it looks in person. ![]() Truss rod working / no problems. Serial no. A 98***. All original finsh, no overspray, no repairs, cracks or nasty surprises. No headstock cracks / breaks / undisclosed issues or problems. Cosmetically very good, couple of small marks here and there, and a little bit of buckle wear (not through finish). The only thing I foolishly did was leave it on a guitar stand for a while where the rubber from the stand seemed to react with the finish leaving a mark on the back. I tried to photograph it as well as possible, although it looks worse because of the flash (it’s not bare wood!). The finish here is a rough to the touch and seems to have dissolved some of the nitro. Besides this I’d give it a 9/10. You can see the mark about an inch below the strap button. ![]() Back of neck is basically as new and the frets are barely worn. Was setup / PLEK’d last year and plays like a dream. Please feel free to call me on 0409 395 724 after hours. |

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
aside-two great looking guitars-you have some gems hidden away there.I like the tele, but i dont know if i could stomach another fender! I got a good deal on a '63 strat last year and it's great to play-but it has more rattles than a millionaires baby-it's a fender thing.I also like the 335-i traded a fantastic old '67 335 for a Les Paul last year-Jacksons-and i really miss it.

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
blueheeler - I was in Jacksons Rare Guitars last week, they have a '68 Goldtop that looks to be in almost as new condition - other than turning green!! It's one of the rare ones with the small headstock. They only want $49,500 for it!! Yikes..
Anyway, the Valve Junior I had up here is sold now; a guy should pick up the DiMarzio's tomorrow. I've still got the Line6 Pocket Pod going for cheap if anyone's interested. Last edited by circusboy28; 08-09-2009 at 06:29 AM. Reason: spelling.. |

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
I'm not kidding about the '68 at Jacksons - they're usually expensive but that's just crazy! It's clean looking - but it's gone a copper green colour. I have no idea why they want so much - there's 50's Pauls around Oz for substantially less money.
Steve Jackson seems a nice enough guy to talk to, and it's always fun to go in and plonk away on a pre-L Strat, but even if I was so rich that it didn't matter I still wouldn't buy for the prices he asks!! |

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
circusboy - a lot of jacko's stock is on consignment, and hence the price is dictated by the seller. the seller of that one wants a heck of a lot (like 35k)for it, and then jacko puts on his cut - hence making it overpriced.
I agree, many of his prices are crazy, but I've sold 3 guitars through Jacksons recently and because I was realistic (read: not greedy) with my expectations, they sold. Yes, they were obviously more expensive for the buyer than buying privately but still not unreasonable. And don't forget prices are negotiable, and of course you get slugged with GST as well. Just another viewpoint.... |

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
A disclaimer: this is well off topic.
For you guys in SYD, Jacksons is a boon. Whilst it is expensive, it is also the benchmark. Whether I am in Aust, or overseas, I always measure the guitars (and for that matter, other stuff) by what Jacksons have in stock, and online, and what they charge for it. Of course, they are not always the same. I have had friends put stuff in their store, only to have it Not Sell For Ages. Some guitars, even quite valued ones, do not move there. -Other places- I rate a shop in Melb called 'music swop shop'. Well known in the southern city, but tends to be frequented by actual musos. You won't find your sixties, or even seventies, -in-mint-condition anything here. See MUSIC SWOP SHOP ONLINE. Back in Harbourtown, I also rate Guitar Crazy. In one of the southern 'burbs. Most of the stuff in consigned there, but whereas i look at Jacksons, I tend to buy here. See Guitar Crazy at:Gibson Les Paul |

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
The stuff that's on the Guitar Crazy site isn't what they have in the store anymore - some problem with the website. You have to contact them and see if they have what you want. Certainly my experience of trying to deal with them recently was very poor.
I made a phone call & was told a guitar was in stock. I caught 2 buses across town, arrived in the store with the cash money in my pocket and the guy in the store tells me that they "haven't had a Firebird for 4 years". Which annoyed the crap out of me. So then I ring back the next day to try to talk to the original guy and was told a different story again. Perhaps other people have had good experiences with them, this is what happened to me a few weeks ago. |

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
Of course Jackson's have loads on consignment - imagine how much their outlay would be to buy all of that stuff outright. It's just for the most part the prices are so unrealistic - last year they had a '56 LP Junior for $55K!! Of course it's not going to sell for that price - it was only in at best okay condition.
I would think it would be in the stores interest to tell would be consigners that "you're dreaming". I've put items up for sale in other shops - they often say "you'll get x dollars for that". I suspect that Jacksons like the prestige of having the best vintage collection in the country, but actually make their money on the items selling for less than $5K. |

Re: Aussie Sellers Thread
Exactly ...it's only ever worth what people are prepared to pay, if it sells then that's the benchmark... if it sits around in a music shop for months on end then something is clearly wrong.
